Are You Doing Everything You Can To Get Results In Your Business?
Rob: What's up, pro flippers? On today's episode, we're talking about are you doing everything you can to get results in your business?
Rob: All right guys, so today we are tackling a tough, a tough question more. Are you doing everything in your business you possibly can to get the best results or the results that you're trying to get?
Melissa: So basically kind of think about, are you doing the same thing over and over again but you're expecting different results?
Rob: Love it! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over. And expecting something different out of the outcome. Are you doing that right now?
Melissa: So we just got back from a conference. So obviously we're like, kind of like, you know, motivated, encouraged to, for, to grow our business. And we're coming off kind of off of that.
And so we were thinking about it and we're like, we should just hop on and do a quick podcast on that. Cause it is super important and you get motivated when you go to those things. And, but the motivation sometimes fizzles out after a little while. So we wanted to make sure that we hopped on and talked about it a little bit.
Rob: So what can you actually do? So last year, we'll tell you, we went to this conference and I came back and I said, okay, I'm taking the TV off the wall. I know. And before I go further on this, I'm not telling you to do this. I'm telling you what is my conviction? What do I feel like I need to do to get better results?
And last year I pulled the TV off the wall and we did it.
Melissa: Before you keep going on that. Can I tell you like what our goals are for the year? So let's do that first. First, we have two big goals for our business. So the first one is, so before we go through like what we're going to try to do different, not try, I don't like that word try, what we're going to do different, one of our goals is to hit $100,000 in our flipping business.
And it shouldn't be that difficult. Like you already have a good head start. Like we're coming to the end of the year. I think we have three months left. So you should be close on track, but you also haven't been listening that much. So that's one of our goals. So did you want to elaborate on that?
Rob: No, definitely.
And that's what I have to get more stuff listed to be able to sell more stuff. So that goes hand in hand. And now what we're going to do to actually tackle that, that's where it comes down, implement, implementing what we've learned and what we know we need to do to go to that next level. So goal number one, make a hundred thousand dollars this year in our business.
Melissa: And we've done it in the past. And then sometimes we trickle around 80 to a hundred thousand, but it's really just listing more than you have plenty that you need to get listed.
Rob: And remember, we're probably spending between five and ten hours, maybe even less than that per week in our business because we're doing a lot of other stuff.
We're doing social media stuff. We're doing a podcast. We're doing coaching. We do a lot of other stuff in our day that are flipping business. I love it. I'll do it the rest of my life because I enjoy it and I love it, but we're putting very little amount of time and effort into the flipping business on what we do.
So. Goal number one. What is goal number two?
Melissa: Goal number two is to help a thousand people hit $10,000 in their flipping business.
Rob: This is huge! This changes people's life when you're able to show them what they're able to do in the flipping arena, where they can build it and get to $10,000. Then they actually see the potential.
Okay, I made $10,000. Could I actually take this to $50,000 a year? Could I actually take it to $100,000? And you absolutely can. But it is so freeing, just to watch people see what can happen when they make it to $10,000.
Melissa: And one thing that we've done that's pretty cool is over the last couple years through our, program, we've kept track of people's results, which is really cool because we do a pro flipper club and like when people hit a milestone, a thousand, two, sorry, a thousand, 5$5,000, $10,000, and a hundred thousand in their business, we celebrate them.
And so we've been able to see like, so we've had over 80 people hit $10,000 in their business. And I think we were up to eight people that have hit $100,000 and it's super cool to see. So now we want to help a thousand people get to that in their business.
Rob: That is our goal. That is what we're pushing towards is do a thousand people to hit that $10,000 mark in their business.
So now what are we going to do to try, sorry, to get these results,
It's not try.
Melissa: We're taking that word out of our vocabulary.
Rob: To get these results. What are we going to do to get these results? And I kind of expressed to you last year, what we did. Pulled the TV off the wall because I knew at the end of the day, I spent too much time sitting down and kind of relaxing and I probably went through an hour and a half, maybe even two hours sometimes watching a movie or something like that at night to kind of wind down.
And I knew I could be doing more towards our business, more towards listing items and getting stuff done. So I took the TV off the wall, lasted for a couple months and we did get some good results. It was good. This year, I thought of another thing that I could do to help me get better results. And what I decided to do is pull the TV off the wall, which we're doing that, but we're also rearranging our living room and our dining room and setting it up in a different matter because I know habits are built and habits are hard to break.
So me at the end of the day, sitting down on my lazy boy, even if there's not a TV on the wall, it's still one of those things that is signal to your body. It is. So I want to change it up. I want to put the chairs in a different place, the couches in a different place, set it up differently. So instead of the focal point of our living room on a TV, I want to make the focal point on, you know, our lazy boys, exactly, sitting couch, a coffee table in the middle so we can set it up a little bit different.
So hopefully it will get us better results. And I don't know if it will work, but I do know that will help me change the habit that I have dealt with for years, doing that. So, and I'm not a lazy person, don't get me wrong, but I do know I can get more out of what I'm trying to do. And, I think one of our mentors, mentor says, you, you, you'll live in crazy imbalance to see the results that you want. And I'm butchering it. For a small time. Exactly.
Melissa: It's not forever. And it's not like we'll never put the TV back on the wall. Yes. And we're not, it's like, it's not going to be extreme. But for right now, like we're kind of in a, in a period of that we want to really grow.
And for us to do that, we have to. really watch our time in the day. And I think, because we do value our time with our kids. And so we have to make sure that the time when they're either asleep or like not home from school that we are getting the most out of that time. So, and that is something that you deal with as you kind of veg out.
And there's nothing wrong with that. Like, you know, you work hard, you want to do that. But for right now, during the week, we want to make sure that we have that time. And now that's not something that I deal with so much. Mine is more scrolling on social media. So I have to be conscious of that. So what I'm going to do is keep the phone out of the room when I'm working on the computer, like when I'm working on any of the stuff on our website and all this stuff, I have to keep it out because social media is a part of our business. So it's very easy to get distracted like, oh, well, I need to make posts. Oh, wait a minute. I just lost an hour.
I was just supposed to go post something. What happened? So I have to be conscious about that and I'm only use social media when we're doing it, like, working, and then the phone is out of, out of the room that I'm in. So, another thing that I thought of too, sorry to interrupt you, but, one thing that can be helpful too is sometimes like at the end of the day if it's whatever you're wanting to change up some habits, like maybe you are trying to clean up your diet or something, or whatever it is with your habits.
Rob: Sorry, a cat just scratched my leg, sitting in the chair.
Melissa: All right. Whatever it is you're trying to change your habit, you know, sometimes at night you get hungry or whatever it is, go for a walk and that could be that helpful too for, you know, changing up your tired, you know, you need more energy, go for a walk in the evenings can really help.
That's a big one. I feel like you're changing, you're disrupting the pattern of I'm, I need dessert after dinner or I need, you know, like whatever it is. And then you disrupt it by going for a walk and said, and then you get energized and you get endorphins in it. It feels good. So that's just another thing.
Rob: One of the things that I thought about that I was changing as well as I'm getting up an hour earlier right now and I would. Just started that this week. I did and it's been working out really well an hour earlier and I want to even get that up to two hours earlier to get more work done to do my actually my devotions in the morning I love spending time with God reading the bible doing that kind of stuff. And I love to do that and it makes it more I'm focusing on that the first portion of my day and I think that will help but at the same time I'm also after I do that.
I'm trying to get some work done I'm trying to work on some of the coaching aspects of our business and that kind of stuff. So, that's one extra thing that i'm actually doing and committed to doing to try to get the results that i'm striving for that i'm going toward. Remember those two goals that we're really shooting for Is a thousand people to make it to ten thousand dollars and we want to make a hundred thousand dollars in our flipping business this year. So those are what we are doing. Think about yourself right now.
What can you do? Are you willing to make a commitment? Are you willing to take a survey of what's going on in your life right now, on where you can figure out some things that you can change or some things you can do to get towards whatever your goal is What is that goal? Either, you know, take a survey of your life of what is going on right now and maybe put one or two goals into play and then figure out how are you going to get there?
What things can you change or what can you build better habits around to get to that point? Yeah.
Melissa: And a lot of times I feel like we like we make these goals or we have these goals and then we don't change anything that we're doing. And sometimes it might not be because time is always so hard. So we're just trying to find some more time in our day and that's what we're doing.
I have not committed to the getting up earlier yet. Maybe I'll get there.
Rob: That's right. She's done it for years before I ever did it too. So that's ok.
Melissa: I ruined. I used to have to get up and be at the gym at five and 5:30 for clients and it just, it broke me for a while. So I'm like, ah, maybe I'll get back there, but we'll see.
But maybe it's not that you are like, it's a habit necessarily. Maybe you're working on things. That aren't the first, most important thing. So, like, it's one thing that we've learned over the years. Like, we have all these things.
Like, my to do list is so long of all these things I need to do. But what is the big thing that's gonna be the biggest needle mover in your business? So, like, for flipping, so, yes you have stuff to list, but it's still fun to go sourcing and go to the thrift store. But is that really what's going to make you more money?
No, at the moment you need to get your stuff listed. So it's just getting down and doing it and get that money pile going. So that was just my final little thought. Awesome.
Rob: So what are you going to do? Are you going to see what is serving you right now? In your best interest and kind of survey what's going on.
And are you going to make any commitments? Are you going to try to do that? And so like Melissa and I said, we coming hot off of a conference, this is what's fresh in our lives and we wanted to share it with you guys. And maybe you're okay. And you're getting the results you want to right now. Awesome.
Kudos. We're so excited for you, but for us, we have, we're always striving to get better in our coaching business and our flipping business, everything we do, we're trying to grow, constantly grow and get better at what we're doing. And that's why we want to share it with you guys. If we can help you guys in your growth as well, that's what our goal is to actually, yeah, just challenge you and get you to that next level if it's possible.
Melissa: Yeah. And we don't usually do a lot of like mindset and deep stuff, but you know, it is important. It's important for growth in your business and life. And so we hope to bottle some of it up that we got from the conference and deliver it to you. And also, we did just start our Pathway To $10K recently with our our beta group and we did open it up.
If it's something that you're interested in looking at we'll put a link in the show notes.
Rob: Absolutely. If you want to be one of those people in the next 12 months to go to ten thousand dollars This is the process that you will help you get there, so we'd love to work with you guys if that's the case If not, no worries. Guys, hopefully you've got a lot out of this podcast or this video that you're watching. Hopefully it's been beneficial for you. That's our goal for you is to just help you motivate you, keep you accountable with what your goals are and help you get to them.
Melissa: We'd love to hear what you are trying to, or not trying, why don't that word keeps coming up? What you're going to do differently to get those different results, either DM us on Instagram or shoot us an email and let us know.
We'd love to hear from you.
Rob: You guys rock. Have an amazing day and we'll see you on the next episode.
