$4,000 Found On Facebook Marketplace (5 Days On The Road!)

Rob: So welcome. For the next couple episodes, we wanna do something a little bit different, a little bit special. We are traveling the country right now, finding some cool stuff, seeing some really cool stuff, and we wanna pull you guys along for that experience. So we'll be doing small snippets of the trip where we're talking about what we're buying, what we're finding, what we're seeing, and we're gonna actually throw it in so you guys can follow along with us, see some of the cool stuff that we're actually doing.

And yeah, anything to add?

Melissa: No, the goal is to go up the East Coast, across the top of the US, and to see some amazing sights and fill our trailer along the way. Our- we normally, you know, average around $20,000 of inventory on these trips, so that's kind of our benchmark goal, and we'll see what we come back with when we're done.

Rob: You guys are awesome. Hopefully you enjoy this next episode.

Rob: What's going on, guys? Day five of the road trip, super, super stoked. I'm being noisy and we're in a parking lot, so I gotta qui- I gotta tone it down a little bit.

Melissa: No, you don't. We don't have a microphone- Cool ... so you gotta still be loud.

Rob: We're on day five, found some really, really cool stuff that we wanted to show you guys kinda what we have hit so far.

Melissa: We've covered some miles.

Rob: We have.

Melissa: We, we came from Orlando, where are we now? All the way to New Jersey, now, a- as far as day five goes. Yeah. We picked up two items from Marketplace and two- one or two items from the thrift store right now.

Rob: Thrift store.

Melissa: You're working on one today, which I don't know if it's gonna work or not.

Rob: Yeah.

Melissa: So.

Rob: Which one was I working on?

Melissa: The oven.

Rob: Oh yeah, no, uh, uh, negotiating, sorry. She,

I,

I thought she- No ... meant I was working on one.

Melissa: No, no, you were negotiating on it.

Rob: I was [00:02:00] negotiating on one. We ended up passing and I think we're gonna head further north, so we're not gonna pick up that one. Maybe on the way back, we'll see if we can make it work.

If not, we still have plenty of, still plenty

of room in the trailer ... plenty of time. Plenty of room, plenty of time, so excited. We got the oven. We showed you guys that one. We actually got a monster heater right here. Really, really cool heater if you wanna show them that. Awesome, awesome heater.

Never seen one like this before, so I was pretty stoked when I got it. I think it's a kerosene or,

Melissa: There's the button right there. Oh, it's covered ...

Rob: a kerosene or a, a diesel heater, so we got that. Pretty excited about that. Just picked this one up from the thrift store. It is like a Feather Lite sewing machine, and I didn't do any comps on it because I was, right there it was on the counter, it was behind the counter.

Melissa: And it was on a 50% off tag, so we were.

Rob: 50% off. We paid 50 bucks for it, and then I checked once I got in the car, and it's worth at least 200 bucks, so we'll be able to sell 200 bucks.

Melissa: Like for sale, resale value.

Rob: For resale, yeah. That's what we'll be able to sell it for on eBay, so comps on eBay 200 bucks. Not horrible, not spectacular. It's very small, very easy. Maybe I'll let one of the kids do it. Brody also got a... if you look back there in the corner, I don't know if you can see it.

Melissa: I kind of covered it ...

Rob: a basketball rim. Oh, yeah. So he got a cool hoop that actually has a TV on the backboard of the hoop. I forget what it's called, something crazy. Hoop like hoop- But he was super excited about it ... with

a weird, like, weird-

Yeah ... basketball hoop. He was super excited about it. Definitely I don't think he'll end up selling that.

I think he wants to play with that. So not a flip, but something cool that we found.

Melissa: So how much did we say we bought the oven for? Just to?

Rob: I thought it was 100 bucks. Heater was 100 bucks. I like negotiating to $100. That's my favorite number. Sewing machine 50 bucks. We're at $250 right now.

Melissa: And how much resale value for that?

Rob: The oven'll be around $3,000, give or take, but close to 3,000 bucks, after we get a good cleanup on it. Heater should be about $1,200 to $1,500, once we wipe it down, clean it up, get some good pictures of that. Sewing machine $200, so what are we at? Three, four, just under $5,000, and we spent 250 bucks, so not horrible.

Cool. We'll find some other really neat deals.

Melissa: And the heater don't need much, anything.

Rob: No, it works perfect like it is. Yeah ... just cleaning it up. It's a little dusty.

Melissa: This one, well, and this one needs some love the more I- This one will definitely need...

Rob: the oven itself will need some work. Not, I shouldn't say work. It will need to be cleaned. Some, some big, big elbow grease. It's been sitting for a couple years inside of a guy's garage. But it's what we do. We'll clean it up, get it making, making it, it look nice. It will sell fairly quick once I get it listed. We've sold a couple different ones of these, this type of range, so I know for a fact that it will sell.

Melissa: That door is so annoying. Sorry, guys.

Rob: It will sell pretty well. And then we've got one that we're not talking about yet. We'll talk

about it later.

Melissa: Oh, I forgot about that.

Rob: If you look, hanging up behind Melissa, we have a couple bags there. Something totally out of the norm for what we do, but I'm pretty stoked about it, and we'll keep you guys posted on that.

Something you have to-

Pretty fun ... watch some more videos. I think it's gonna be pretty unique, pretty cool. And excited to see how well

it does.

Melissa: Not something we've ever flipped before.

Rob: No. But- Something that's gonna be really, really cool. So other than that-

Melissa: And we went to a thrift store. Excuse me, we just actually got back from a thrift store that was pretty cool we saw on the side of the road, so we, we stopped in, and it was a really cool one.

I can't remember you- the name. Unique. Yeah, it was unique. But, it was really-

Rob: It was called Unique.

Melissa: That's right. I know. No, that's not even... I, I... No. No, that's really cool. It was a lot of fun, and he would've stayed in there another couple hours.

Would've.

But we have to get on the road so we can make sure we're making our time today, so I told him, "All right, that's it. No more. You keep going back, you're gonna buy some more, so we gotta go," so.

Rob: We still got plenty of room in the trailer. We're gonna have a lot of fun, get some more really, really cool stuff. Yeah. The one that I passed up today, we probably shouldn't have passed it up, but it would've taken time out of our drive today as well, so I passed it up, and I'm, I'm in hopes that we'll be able to find something that is, that's gonna be just as good if not better, further down the road, 'cause we still got a, a lot of mileage, a lot of miles to cover, in the next, week or two.

Yeah. So I know we'll be around the country finding some cool stuff.

Melissa: And we've been able to see some cool sights. We stopped in DC for a, a day. We stopped... Where else did we stop? We-

Rob: Just left the Statue of Liberty.

Melissa: Yeah. New York. So we got to see a couple of cool things along the way, but it is flipping hot, and It is hot

it better cool down soon, 'cause it has been super hot. So hopefully this is almost done with that.

But. It is hot ...

but we've, we've still had, had a lot of fun, and we're excited to keep going and see what we can find.

Rob: Stay tuned. We'll bring you some more really, really cool stuff soon. You guys are awesome.

I gotta sneeze.

Melissa: The most- ... informal video- Excuse me ... ever.

Rob: You guys are awesome. And shaky. We'll bring you some more cool stuff. Have a great day. We'll talk to you soon.

Melissa: Bye.

Rob: See ya.
