Picking Road Trip Across The Country ($26,000 Inventory)

Rob: What's up, pro flippers? On today's episode, we are recapping the recent road trip we took as a family across the United States.

Melissa: And what we found worth $26,000 on the road.

Rob: Alright guys, so today we are recapping what we actually found on the road trip while we went across country with our kids, with our enclosed trailer, with our dog on some of the trip and what we were able to buy and what it should be worth when we get it listed and get it sold.

Melissa: Yeah, that's the key. We gotta get it listed right so it can sell. So we're just gonna dive into kind of what we found. We do gravitate towards certain kinds of items. You guys know. We like the larger higher profit, which tend to be more sometimes, like we get some exercise equipment, some appliances, just 'cause there's so much money to be made in them and people won't ship them.

And that's kind of where we kind of our jam, right? Yep. So.

Rob: That's it. So if you are brand new to us, we don't really mess with small, low profit items. We don't do volume, we do big sometimes small, but they have to be high profit. Like Melissa said, we want to be able to make that money, $2,000, $3,000, $5,000, $10,000 per flip.

That is what we are going for. And that is really what shines when we're out there sourcing for items.

Melissa: Yeah, when we're looking for items, we're not looking for something. If we're gonna look at something for $50, we're not looking for it to make us a hundred dollars. Like our goal is to 10 x. So if we're gonna spend $50, that should bring in $500 and that's, that leaves enough wiggle room for eBay fees, for shipping costs and all that. So like, that's a, a general rule. It's not like we're making $500 profit, but it's bringing in $500. That leaves us enough room to have a good profit on the item. Absolutely. So, so that's kind of our goal and that's pretty much what we average when we do our averages at the end of the year.

We are pre, we're almost on target. On every, like we,

Rob: I think we're over 10x.

Melissa: I think we're over it too. Yeah. So on the last couple years that we've, really kept track of everything, so. Absolutely. But that is our goal when we're looking for stuff.

Rob: Sweet. Let's dive in and see what we were able to grab.

Melissa: All right, so this is our fourth year going on the road. The first year we didn't have the intention of finding stuff to flip, but we still brought our trailer, so of course you still found some stuff. But now we kind of go with the intention of going to find stuff along the way that can help pay for our trip that we are going to see, you know, national parks, state parks, and see nature with our kids.

So this year we hightailed it to California, straight from Florida, the first week. So we didn't find anything that first couple days 'cause we were on a mission, right?

Rob: We had a tight schedule. Yeah. We had to get over to LA. We actually did a 17 day Hawaiian cruise out of LA over to Hawaii and back. So, but we were on a tight,

Melissa: we paid for with one flip.

We did a video on that. We'll put it in the show notes.

Rob: We did. So, but we had a, a really short, so I couldn't do a lot of sourcing on the way. We had to drive, we drove, we didn't fly. Like Melissa said, we pull our trailer so we can grab stuff, but we had a, a really, really tight schedule to get over there, get there in time.

We had to leave the day the kids got out of school for the summer, leave that exact day. And then we had a couple days to get over to LA from Florida, so it was a truck. I didn't get to find anything on the road, but when we came back, we did, we grabbed some things and number one on the flip before actually.

Oh, okay.

Melissa: You found something in Hawaii. So when we were, oh, we did. At Hawaii, one of the days we had the longest day, I don't remember what island was it? Oahu. We could, we had all day till like 10 o'clock. So we spent the whole day going around the island and it was really cool. We rented cars on the island so we could just go and visit different places.

And, we stopped in a Salvation Army. It was right across the street from where we ate lunch. And of course we had to stop in. Right. So, so we stop in and see we're on the ship, so you can't really bring anything big home, but we found a couple things. Yeah. And you ended up getting, what are they not records?

What are they? I don't know.

Rob: My son brought me, my son actually found 'em. He, he did find it. You're right. It looked like a record and when I looked closely at it, I was like, wait a minute, this isn't a record. We actually bought some, ah, they're not compact disc. What are they called? Laser disc. Laser disc.

Thank you. Laser disc players. Really, really cool. Came out before CDs. Really, really ahead of its time in technology, laser discs. So the same size as a record, but it added actually movies, on those laser discs. So my son brought one over to me and I'm like, whoa, where'd you get this from? And he showed me and they actually had a stack, I think we bought probably 15 or 20, yeah, laser discs from Hawaii, that we brought back.

And I figured some of 'em, I would either put a lot together and sell them with the laser disc player that I have. Or we'd sell them individually if they're worth it. And I haven't gone through all of them, but we only paid, I think it was less than two bucks. $2 each. I think. I think it was less than $2 or right at $2 a piece for them.

Yeah. So didn't spend a lot of money. Definitely we'll make our money back on them. Really, like I said, it's a cool technology, old, I think laser discord out before VHS or around the same time as VHS. And they were, a better quality, movie that was played on that. So that was our first flip. I forgot in Hawaii.

Melissa: First find.

Yeah, we found it in Hawaii. So we brought those back. They were small enough, we could just keep 'em in our room and then take 'em off the ship. So I actually didn't put that in the totals 'cause I didn't know which ones. You haven't gone through them to see which ones that are worth anything.

So there might be a couple that are worth a little more than others.

Rob: I would assume a couple hundred bucks. We'll make a couple hundred bucks on those.

Melissa: And bundling them. Also will make the player worth more too. Yes. So that absolutely. That's cool. So the next find that you found was that convection oven for $150.

So.

Rob: Convection oven, I'm drawing a blank on this one. Which one was it?

Melissa: That one is the first one that was that near my mom's. Isn't that that one?

Rob: Yes, you're right. Okay. So this was a commercial, on a stand a convection oven. What was the brand? What was the brand? Did you write down the brand? I didn't write down.

Okay. It's a commercial oven. We'll throw a picture in here. Yeah. There'll picture for the video people who are watching the video. It is, was a commercial convection oven. I think he was asking like $300-$500, if I'm not mistaken. Oh, you paid five? $150. $150. So I offered him $150 for it. He took it and yeah, we, we swung by and grabbed it. I think I did the comps on this one. Did we pull $5,000? $5,000? Okay. I think comps were even higher than that. I think it was $5,000 to $7,000 is what I should be on the lower side. $5,000 is what we trying to on the, on the lower side. So yeah. And which is killing our 10x rule that we do.

Sometimes we find some stuff that will kill it. And this was definitely one of 'em because it was a convection. Ah, man, it's on the tip of my tongue, if I remember it. I'll say it when we're going through the other ones on the tip of my tongue. A commercial convection oven. So something in a restaurant.

Actually this one, I don't think it's three phase. I think this is a, a single phase. But it is a very, very cool buy that we actually got on this one.

Melissa: And we picked that one up at night because we, the guy was not gonna be available the next day. And we, like, we're on a time crunch to, we had a high tail it back to Florida. And then, so we were on a time crunch and he couldn't do it the next day and we had to leave the next day. So, yeah, he agreed, I think nine o'clock at night, you went to his garage.

Rob: Between nine or 9:30 we swung in, we loaded the sucker up in the trailer, strapped it down, went and spent the night, got up and got out town at eight o'clock the next morning.

So it was really, really quick, but it worked out well. And this was definitely a killer, killer flip. We'll be able to make some money on.

Melissa: Yep. And the next one was in the same area in Colorado at the Habitat. The cooktop for $45. Cooktop. Do you remember that one?

Rob: Yeah, I do. Electrolux, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, Electrolux cooktop, 36 inch, glass electric. So it's not, it is not a gas cooktop, but killer, killer deal on this small, we'll be able to ship it in a box. Not gonna go freight or anything like that. Sweet deal. Absolutely. Sweet. So, got this, what did we, what did I estimate on this too? $2,000.

Yeah. So $1,500 to $2,000, conservatively $1,500. We should be able to get about. Like I said, between that $2,000 on the, on the high end, $1,500 on the low end, but good deal for $45. Come on. That is amazing. I love those type of turnarounds and those type of flips.

Melissa: Yeah. And that's a pretty cool thrift store. That one had a lot of stuff. The double oven, what was $150 that you could get?

Rob: Double oven. I do, I believe it was it, was it a Viking? Yeah. So Viking Double Oven. I vaguely remember this for some reason I'm drawing a blank, because our, our trip was broken into two parts this time. Two, we had to fly home after, no, this was the one that was out in the rain.

Oh, I don't remember. Yeah, so it was a JennAir. Yeah, I think it's a JennAir double oven. Yeah. This is the one that,

Melissa: 'cause you were going, we were going this, I do remember, I can't remember which state we were in. We were hightailing it back to Florida. And you stopped to go to get it from this guy and yeah, it had been left in the back of his truck.

Left. It was back in the, in the truck. Truck through a couple of rainstorms. Yeah. Yeah. 'cause when we went to go lift it into the, you lifted it in the back and you didn't see it, but when you're gonna move it, yeah. There were puddles like of water that were coming out of it draining. So we're like, oh, great.

Rob: Yeah, definitely held some water. So, and I did not plug this one in yet, so I'm not a hundred percent sure. We might not. Cool. Thing is we paid what, $150 for it. Yeah. It has parts on it worth well over $150. If I had to at least get my money back, I could. If we are able to sell it in working condition, all the water drained out a bit, fairly quickly, once you put it in the trailer.

So I don't think it did any major damage. I think it just held water in there, while he had it laying down and then it all drained out once it, once it set up. So, but if we were able to sell it, $2,000, we'll be able to get forward a double oven, a built-in double oven and like

Melissa: but you still can sell it for parts, right?

Rob: Absolutely. I'll make my money back at least, if not double or triple my money on parts alone versus being able to make two grand on it if we do, if we're able to sell it as a complete unit working.

Melissa: So, and you can test that not, that's not that hard?

Rob: No, absolutely. This is this single phase, just a normal, an oven that you'd be in the house, put inside the house.

Like I said, it's built into cabinets. So it's not one that slides in, you actually have to have an opening for it. It's a double oven, top and bottom big oven, that will go into, cabinets. So.

But killer deal on that. Yeah, for sure.

Melissa: And then the last one before we came back to Florida for the first time, was that cooktop that you went to get from that guy.

Do you remember? And it was missing the grade. Or the, the grate.

Rob: Yes. So this one was a killer one 40. It was either 45 or 46 inch. It was a big one. JennAir gas cooktop.

Melissa: So the bigger ones sell or they're worth more, right?

Rob: They're more, they're a little bit more, prestigious, no, that's not the word, rare.

Higher. Yeah, it's higher end. It's higher end. Definitely higher end, because a normal kitchen does not have, okay. A 45 inch cooktop, 46 or 48 inch. Sorry. That's what it is. A 46 or 48 inch. I never measured it, he never had it listed that way, but I saw it's got a downdraft in it and it had three sets of burners, so 2, 4, 6, 6 burners on it versus the normal cooktops that have four for a 30 inch.

Yeah, this one was a lot bigger with a downdraft that sucked all the air down. But killer deal on this. It got there. The guy had it out of one of his rental properties. He was redoing something on it, but it was missing one, thing and I noticed it as soon as I got there. It was in the pictures before I got there.

And when I got there, he had moved it to the house where I met him at, and he left it behind or did something with it, but it was the cover over top of the downdraft just a little grate, a black grate that was there. He, like I said, misplaced, it didn't bring it. So he actually told me to take the whole thing for free.

I couldn't do that. I knew in my heart, even if I had to sell it for parts, parts alone on this thing will bring at least $500, $700, $800, but I still wanted to sell it as a whole. We should be able to make at least $2,000 on this one as a whole as well. So yeah, I ended up giving him, did I say a hundred or $150?

A hundred, a hundred dollars. So that's what he, I settled, I negotiated before I even got there settled on the a hundred dollars. He told me I could have it for free since he misplaced the part or it wasn't there. We still paid him a hundred bucks, took it. And yeah, absolutely this will be a killer deal.

Cool thing about it was inside of our members group, our private members group, one of our members, there's, so there's a, a lot of our members will part out these units. One of our members actually had it.

Melissa: So you got it from her?

Rob: I got it for free from her. She shipped it to me, offered to pay her, and she said, no, don't worry about it.

So, I love it when that stuff happens. It's really cool when we're able to work together with our other, we've had students or members we've that more,

Melissa: yeah, we have a lot of people that part outs stuff and then you, they just buy it from them and it's amazing.

It's really cool.

Rob: It's cool to be able to work together with other flippers.

So we absolutely love that aspect of it. So I got that. We got a hundred bucks total in this. Should have no problem selling it for two grand. It is a higher end, a higher end cooktop. Awesome. Sweet.

Melissa: All right. And then, then we made the trek up to Michigan. So.

Rob: This was my favorite one.

Melissa: This was your favorite one.

And this was the scariest one because when we got there, it, there was a lightning storm that was about to happen and.

Rob: Oh, it was happening.

Melissa: It was around us and you just get that feeling and the guy was outside and I'm like, just hurry up. Like look at it and let's go load it in and let's go this big hunk of metal too, yeah. Yeah. In the middle of a field. So he had it outside, which was not the best thing. Yeah. But, so it was a commercial dishwasher. Yep. So.

Rob: Yep. A Hobart commercial dishwasher. Big Hobart's a good brand. Imagine your refrigerator, two of your refrigerators side by side. That's how big it was. Big, big piece of, commercial equipment.

Got there. He did have it outside. Had it on a pallet. I didn't have a lot of time, like Melissa said, there were lightning bolts coming down all around us and we're like, oh crap. I got a metal trailer. I'm loading this stuff into, it's a big hunk of metal that we're getting. We're trying to push it in, a big unit.

And we had ended up, he was asking, originally he was asking $3,000 for this. He had it marked down to a thousand dollars. I offered him $500 for it, and he, he jumped on that, which I don't typically like to pay that much, but it was on the higher end. Yeah, it's a higher end.

And the retail on this was $35,000 to $40,000?

Yes. $35,000 to 40,000, commercial, it has a conveyor belt that runs dishes through it, so a very high end commercial dishwasher. I knew worst comes to worst if I, everything wasn't there. If, if something was broken on it, I could sell the parts and definitely, at least 10X our, our, our investment on just the parts alone.

So, we got that sucker loaded it up. And they ended up taking it up to Michigan. Melissa's, uncle is up there, has a big warehouse. He, he deals in some industrial equipment and he helped me actually check it. We pulled the top of it off and saw that there were two, which I would've done this in person, had there not been a lightning storm, but it was missing two, the two, only two electrical boards on it, the actual control board, and one was a relay board, something like that. They're very expensive to replace. One was, I don't even know, $2,500, $3,000 to replace it. The other one I could get probably for $500. I'm not gonna go out that I didn't know that. But Melissa's uncle was a, was able to help me, test the other components, the motors, the heating elements and that kind of stuff.

Those does work alone absolutely will be able to make what I wanted to make on the whole unit together. And we'll sell them as, there'll be smaller parts that I'll be able to ship without shipping freight. We'll be able to put 'em in a box, we'll be able to ship 'em out. And those components will make me $10,000, at least $10,000 just in parts on this unit.

Melissa: So there's, I mean, even though you can't sell, if something is not working in the working condition, yeah. You can always sell it as parts. And there are, you could sell the unit. For parts of repair as a whole. Okay. I could, but you wouldn't make as much money if you, unless you part out the items. So it's a little more time involved to part out the items, but it's easier shipping and easier, I mean, you can make more money than if you were just gonna do the whole thing as parts.

Rob: Absolutely. Once I pull the expensive parts out, I can scrap the rest of it. I can get rid of it, go get some money on. It's all stainless steel, so I can go ahead and do that. I only have to store these small motors, the motors but to give you an idea, if this is a $35,000, $40,000 piece of equipment, these motors are retail, $5,000, $6,000 $7,000.

Heating elements in the couple thousand dollars range. So if I go in and I ask half of what the retail is, I'll be able to sell it. I know the components are working. Yeah, so like I said, we'll still be at that $10,000 mark for a $500 investment, which still we're blowing the 10x away. Which I love that, that we're able to do that with our, with our items that we're buying.

So, sweet.

Melissa: All right. The next, oh, and we also, that lightning storm turned in tornado because as we were leaving, we stopped at a gas station and then we started hearing these sirens go off. And this is Kentucky. I think we were in Kentucky and we don't have siren. We don't have tornado sirens. We do get tornadoes in Florida, but they're not like, I don't know.

It's not as, all the time, a major event. Yeah. And it, we don't have sirens. So we, we were next to this guy and we're like, what do we do? What are we, are we supposed to leave? Are we supposed to stay? What do we do? He's like, pay attention, so.

Rob: Get outta town and be on the lookout.

Melissa: We hightailed it out there praying and after about 10 minutes, we got past the worst of it and luckily, the storms were behind us and then we were good, but it was a little hairy at one point.

It was a little, a little bit crazy. So.

Alright, the next one was the Total Gym. So.

Rob: Killer deal on this. Found this, this is a good one. Found this up in Michigan. Total Gym. So Melissa had, the reason this one caught my eye, which I love it when I can find items like this. It caught my eye, not very good pictures of it, but when I was scrolling, pictures on Marketplace, caught my eye.

I noticed some features on it that Melissa had this exact Total Gym, and it's not called a Total Gym.

Melissa: I did personal training in, at our house.

Rob: So it's an actual medical rehab piece of equipment. That's great. So yeah, this is the gym that she had in the house. I paid $40 for it years and years ago at the flea market when I got hers. We turned around and sold it for a couple thousand dollars after she used it for years. Yeah. I knew what it looked like. The person had took some not very good pictures of it. But it's still, it was newer than the one that we had for Melissa. I knew it, so I offered them What, what did we pay for this one?

Melissa: $40. The same.

Rob: The same price that I paid for the other one at the flea market. Killer deal. Yeah, we have that one actually we'll be able to make between $2,000-$2,500 on that. Retail on it, $4,000 $3,999 is what retail for.

Melissa: So it's not Total Gym brand, even though Total.

Rob: It's not Total Gym. It's the same setup as a Total Gym, but it's commercial, okay, version of it. Commercial.

Melissa: It's a rehab machine, right?

Rob: It is. It's actually says Medical EFI yeah rehabilitation exercise machine is what it is. So it's a a lot better built. I mean, it's a higher quality, a caliber of an exercise machine, but it's really built for a rehab machine.

So killer deal on that. $40, $2,000 to $2,500 is what we'll be able to turn that into. Again, blew our 10x away on this one. But that, that's what we're really seeking out. We're trying to look for those items like that.

Melissa: Alright, then next is,

Rob: and that one I will add one more thing. Sorry.

That one I didn't talk, talk the guy down. They had it listed for $40 and I absolutely, I knew it was a killer deal at $40. So I just told 'em, I set up an appointment to go pick it up and that's what we did.

Melissa: Yep. Alright.

The next one was the cooktop for $65. That was the scrapper guy. It was a cool one.

Rob: It was. He was super nice. So, so this one hightailing it from Michigan over to Niagara Falls. We, I set up in the middle of it, there was a little town. I did some sourcing. Ohio, Ohio. Before we left, it was Ohio. Did some sourcing before we left. Set it up with a guy that we'd meet him. When we left that morning, I told him I would message him eta, he gave me his address and we did that.

We were able to swing in, pick this bad boy up and turns out he was a scrapper. He was somebody who got stuff from other people. And then took 'em to the scrap yard and scrapped 'em. And he said this one was so nice. And a lady he got it from said it worked and there was nothing wrong with it. So he didn't wanna scrap it.

He threw it on marketplace. I think he started out at like a thousand dollars on it. Marked it down to when I saw it, I think it was $150 or maybe even than that. So he had marked it down a couple times because nobody took, took him up on it. And then I offered him, probably half of what he had it listed for.

He jumped on it 'cause I knew if he scrapped it, yeah, he would probably only made like $10 or $15.

And he said

Melissa: he was gonna scrap it that week if he did, nobody bought it. If he didn't sell it.

Rob: Yeah. So we swooped in there, got that sucker. On the road trip, just a little bit off of our path. Picked it up and then took it off, took off to, Niagara Falls with it. So cool. This is only, this is only a 30 inch downdraft cooktop. So still gas downdraft. Really, really high-end cooktop. He even told us the, the retail on this is like $3,000. But yeah, that's what,

Melissa: but that's the difference between selling locally or selling on eBay.

Rob: Absolutely.

Melissa: When you're gonna offer shipping. So you could sell it. Yeah. But eBay locally too. But you're not gonna get as many people who are in looking for that model and that brand. Yeah. And so that's why you can ask so much more. And we're still not asking more than retail. We're asking roughly 50% of retail.

Rob: This would should sell for about $1,500 what'd I say $1,500? Yeah. So about $1,500 we'll be able to get for this.

Melissa: Yeah. And one of the things that's pretty cool when we're out on the road sourcing, like you did a little bit different this time before you would go. You're like, okay, what city are we staying in for tomorrow night?

And then you'd go and you'd source that area the night before. This time you are like, okay, where are we driving through basically? I don't know if you just picked a couple different areas and then like on the road that we're there and then we get up in the morning and you'd have something set up and be like, okay.

I messaged a guy, we're leaving at this time. We should be there in five hours approximately. And you got you most of 'em are pretty close to the road. Yeah. So we didn't go off, I think 30 minutes might've been the longest. Yep. Off the road that we did. So.

Rob: Actually looked at our route that we were driving and I saw the route, the road we were taking, where we were going.

And then I sourced in that area and tried to pick stuff that was really, really close to that road where we only, I think the furthest one we went off the road was for that 46 inch or 48 inch cooktop. Yeah. And that was a good 20 minute truck. Yeah. Out. And then we just curved up and went back out. So probably about an hour out of our way to do it. But an hour out of the way to make, you know, $2,000 on it. It's not, not that big of a deal. That's a good deal for sure. So.

Melissa: And then we made it up to Maine. So we hit Acadia National Park for a day and then started to make the trek down New Jersey to visit family. But, the last one we got was the JennAir, the, for $25.

You got it from that guy at his house. He had the Boston accent.

Rob: Oh, I do remember that. So this was JennAir. It was a cool one. It was a, almost like a microwave, a big microwave. But it wasn't, it was a gas powered range still built in. You sure it was JennAir or Viking? I think it's a Viking.

Melissa: It might be Viking. Yeah, I wrote down JennAir.

Rob: I think it was a Viking. And it is a, I can picture it in my head. Yeah, it was one, it was heavy, so it was one that's like a built-in, and a little bit different than like a built-in, a normal built-in oven. It was definitely a single, it looked like a big microwave, but it was a propane or a gas powered, that goes in there.

Super, super expensive. I didn't see a lot of comps on it, so I was excited. I get excited when I don't see a lot of comps. But, what did I say this one should be worth? I think around $2,000. Still, that price break is really what we're looking for when we're sourcing $1,500 is what you thought. Okay. So $1,500, $2,000 in that range of this.

And what did it pay? $25 for it? Yeah, $25. That's what he had a listed for, right? I thought, yeah, I thought the guy made a mistake when he did it, but no he didn't. And actually, when I told him we were coming, I said, he asked how far away we were and I said three hours. We were coming out of Arcadia, in Maine and we were three hours away from him.

And he goes, man, if you're coming three hours, you can have it for free.

Melissa: He did say that.

Rob: I was like, no, I'm not gonna take it for free. So I gave him $25. He helped me load in the back of the trailer.

Melissa: You're like, I'm just on a road trip.

Rob: So for me to turn $25 into $1,500, $2,000 yeah. That's nothing. So, that was our last one that we picked up on the way home.

Melissa: And then we were, I thought we were gonna take our time from New Jersey to get home, but you were ready to get home. So.

Rob: It was a road trip ready to get back, get back to work, and yeah, we've recouped probably about a week now, and, now it's time to get everything listed this week, get it all cleaned up, listed everything ready to go. And then we'll keep you guys posted with our sales as they come in. That's the exciting part.

Melissa: So not counting the the, what are the laser discs? Yep, laser discs, because I didn't count those. We had eight items and we spent $1,075 on them, so we spent $1,100 If we count those and then we should make $26,000 plus whatever for the discs.

Rob: $26,000.

Yes. You heard her right. $26,000 on this road trip and all we went out of pocket, a thousand dollars. That's the cool thing. A thousand bucks, $1,100, whatever it is. That's what we had to pay out of pocket for, to be able to create over $20,000 worth of inventory. That's what we love. That's what we try to help other people do, is be able to hone in on those high profit items and don't waste your time on the items that are $5, $10, $15 flips.

This is, yeah, like I said from in the beginning, this is our business model. This is what we absolutely love doing. And we've really honed in the skillset to be able to do this now.

Melissa: Before we finish I also wanted to add in on our way out there, which I think we mentioned this on another another episode that on our way out we had somebody message you that wanted to buy our, so cool.

What is it? Organ pump. Organ. Organ. The pump organ. We had, you've had it listed for two years or three years. You got that at the 127 Yard Sale. I did. And for $30 I think. And we had it listed for a thousand.

Rob: I think the guy gave it to us. Same place. I bought the, the pressure washer, anyways, but he didn't wanna pack it up and take it.

Right. It was on the 127 Yard Sale. I was going to either sell it as is. If we couldn't sell it after a little while, I was gonna, we were gonna make it into a bar. Convert it into a bar.

Melissa: Really cool. It was really cool. Yeah. But I just never had time to try to mess with it.

Rob: And the cool thing about it is we were able to take it on the way out and drop it off to the guy who wanted it, found it on eBay.

He was on our route to get out to LA, and he wanted it because of his grandma. His grandma had one. And.

Melissa: He was supposed to get it inherited or something, and something happened and he didn't get it and he learned how to play with her and it was like, oh, this sweet story. So, so it's really cool. Like you could be a part of somebody's story.

And so he got it. We dropped it off to him and then, so that was for 900? It was $900 cash. I remember.

Rob: Supposed to be a thousand, but he was a hundred short. Right?

Melissa: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you were like, that's fine. You know, so, no. Yeah. So we took, what we ended up doing also is taking some of that cash. We took a hundred dollars and gave it to each kid to look for stuff on the road trip.

So, we did about, they spent about half of it. So we still have two weeks left of summer. We're gonna go through this soon. Yeah. And go through the rest of their a hundred dollars to see, they wanna see how much they can make out of their hundred dollars. So that was kind of another part of our road trip.

So they did pick up, I didn't add them to the list, but they did. No, we had a couple small things. They, they did pick up a couple things where I, I think the girls have at least over a hundred dollars worth of stuff. A couple hundred dollars. Yeah. It only, they only spent like $10 or $15. Yeah. So, so yeah. So it'll be pretty cool to see how that ends up.

So what they can do. Absolutely. So if you are at all curious about how our business model works, one with the lower volume, higher profit items, check out our workshop at freeflippingworkshop.com and yeah, see if it could help you out.

Rob: You guys rock.

Thanks for hanging out with us and we will see you guys on the next episode.
